Uponor PEX A and Cold Expansion
Uponor AquaPEX and ProPEX use an ASTM F1960 cold-expansion connection method. The pipe and expansion ring are expanded before the fitting is inserted, and the material returns toward its original shape around the fitting. Approved components must be installed as a complete listed system.
Where PEX A May Be Used

PEX A Installation Details Matter
Proper sizing, support, bend radius, expansion allowances, UV protection, firestopping, insulation, nail protection and manufacturer-approved fittings are essential. The name of the material alone does not guarantee a successful repipe.
PEX B Repipe Plumbing
PEX B is another cross-linked polyethylene water-piping option used in residential and commercial plumbing. It is commonly joined with approved insert fittings and crimp, clamp or other listed connection systems. PEX B Whole House Repipe

PEX A vs PEX B

Copper Type L and Copper Type K Repiping

Copper Type L Repipe

Viega ProPress Copper Repiping
Viega ProPress is a press-connection system for approved copper and stainless-steel applications. ProPress connections use system-matched fittings, jaws, rings and press tools instead of conventional soldering. This can be useful for qualifying residential, commercial and multifamily repipes, including locations where controlling open-flame work or completing dependable connections efficiently is important.
ProPress is a joining method, not a pipe type. A Copper Type L or Type K system may use approved press fittings when the application, fitting, sealing element, pipe preparation and manufacturer instructions allow it. Gas piping requires the fitting system specifically approved for fuel-gas service and must not be treated as ordinary water-system ProPress.
Drain Repipe and Whole-Building Redrain
Drain repiping replaces deteriorated waste and vent piping that is cracked, corroded, improperly sloped, repeatedly clogged or leaking below floors and inside walls. The correct material depends on the building, installation location, approved plans and local requirements.
ABS Drain Repipe
